Auto-immune inner ear disease (AIED)
AIED is an inflammatory condition where the immune system attacks the inner ear. It is characterised by progressive sensorineural hearing loss, typically in both ears. You may also experience tinnitus and a fullness in the ears. In some cases, it can involve the vestibular system causing dizziness or vertigo.
