Large vestibular aqueduct (LVAS)
LVAS is a malformation of the inner ear where the bony compartment encasing the endolymphatic duct is enlarged. This makes the endolymphatic duct more susceptible to pressure changes in endolymph, commonly resulting in progressive sensorineural hearing loss. Most cases of LVAS have it as a hereditary condition.
